The piece

A serene delta, captured in moss where river meets land.

Delta I captures the intricate beauty of a river delta, where light green Iceland moss flows like gentle waterways through a base of dark fir-green tones. Velvet green ball-moss cushions, like small islands, punctuate this landscape. Each piece tells a tale of transformation and continuity, inviting a sense of calm reflection. In any given light, it shifts, drawing the eye and the mind into its gentle embrace.

Good to know

Is it real moss?

Yes, Delta I is crafted with real preserved moss.

Do I need to water it?

No, the preserved moss requires no watering or maintenance.

Can it be placed in direct sunlight?

It's best to avoid direct sunlight to maintain the moss's color and texture.

Does it require any special installation?

No special installation is needed, but it should be kept from high humidity.

Delta

One path becomes many.

One family. One shared world.

A line divides, then divides again. Delta follows the logic of branching: each route belongs to a larger whole, while the dark spaces keep the network legible.

04 / Field notes

Where the compositions begin.

Every Waldart palette starts outdoors: which greens sit next to each other, where light catches, how much empty space a surface needs. The first two images are nature studies for this design family; the others are photographs from our walks. The panels themselves are made from preserved moss.

A forest stream dividing into several channels around gravel bars
01 / Branching

A forest stream splits around gravel bars into several channels and joins again further down. Every route belongs to the same water, as every line in Delta belongs to one network.

A beech leaf skeleton on dark moss showing its branching veins
02 / Veins

A decaying beech leaf on moss shows its skeleton: one midrib, then side veins, then ever finer branches. The same logic, at the size of a hand.

Close-up of moss on bark with bright green tips
03 / Light

Only the tips catch the light. That is why the brightest green appears sparingly, as an accent rather than a surface.

Moss spreading across grey limestone, a single leaf above
04 / Edges

Moss never stops in a straight line. Colour fields fray into each other, and we let them.

A woodland stream running between mossy stones and fallen leaves
05 / Intervals

Water makes the spaces between stones visible. Empty space is part of the composition, not what is left over.
